Keeping the pool, rebuilding everything around it
About 10 weeks on site
The concrete pool was sound, and the space around it wasn't. Artisan Stone and Tiles brought the pool itself back. We rebuilt the surround on new foundations: a curved Vitex deck, two flights of stairs and a retaining wall you can't see. The patio couldn't fall away from the pool, so a hidden drain runs along the coping, under the tiles.

A pool and a deck in a small front yard

A small front yard with a trampoline on it, and five real constraints: powerlines over the street that ruled out a large crane, volcanic rock about a metre down, a shed hard against one side, about a metre of deck all the way round the pool, and a one-metre path in a 2.5 m gap to the house. It was built to the original plan, with nothing changed along the way.
