Inside the One Tree Hill Build with PlaceMakers

An on-site interview at the One Tree Hill project — an Outback stainless steel plunge pool, a half-moon Kwila deck and a frameless glass balustrade, with PlaceMakers on materials.

Filmed at the One Tree Hill project, this one is an interview rather than a tour. PlaceMakers came to site and Kevin talks first about how Franc Landscapes works — engineering and consents handled in-house rather than subcontracted out — and then about the job itself. The deck is half-moon Kwila, wrapped around an Outback stainless steel plunge pool and enclosed by a frameless glass balustrade so nothing interrupts the outlook. PlaceMakers supplied the building materials, from the Kwila through to the fixings; the balustrade came from elsewhere. Underneath it the pool sits about a metre into volcanic ground on a reinforced 25 MPa slab — the part nobody sees, and the part that decides how long the rest lasts.
